Four things to know about mobile clocking before activating it
1. Mobile clocking requires location settings be enabled on the mobile device
The phone must have access to an Internet network to be able to clock.
2. Tracking is strictly minimal
The app only takes a position snapshot at the moment of the clock in or out, never at any other time.
3. You can restrict clocking to within a determined perimeter
You can add an address to your locations around which a perimeter is defined and where employees must be in order to clock. If you have multiple jobsites where your employees go, you need the resources module, as described below.
4. You can activate mobile clocking for certain employees only
Under the individual time and attendance settings, you can activate or deactivate mobile time and attendance for each employee.
Activating mobile clocking
While in Atlas Scheduling, click Settings from the left navigation bar.
Click the Attendance option from the menu.
Under Clocking, toggle on Enable clocking via the mobile app.
Enabling geofencing
By default employees must be within 100 metres of the location's address in order to clock in. This threshold is the minimum distance given the multiple interferences and precision of multiple devices.
If you want to remove the restriction, simply uncheck the box. Even if you remove the restriction, you can consult the location of the employee at the moment of their clock using the clock log.
Clocking out from anywhere without justification
Employees frequently forget to clock out. With this setting, they can indicate the actual end time and provide a justification from being away from radius. We strongly recommend you enable it to reduce the amount of back and forth with them.
You can also enable this setting for specific employees under their individual time and attendance settings.
Setting the perimeter
Locations
You can go into Settings and select Locations to create or edit your location's addresses.
Important: Locations listed as Global are linked to specific site data and cannot be edited or deleted. Please contact Atlas directly for support with this.
Multiple jobsites
If you are a security, construction, home care, or field services company, you probably dispatch your staff to multiple jobsites each week. We recommend using the resources module in this case. You can create jobsites that will then be assignable to employee's shifts.
Create a resource (jobsite)
Once created, you can assign the resource (jobsite) to a shift.
