A) What is it for?
The clock logs are used to see all the clocking activity of your employees. Both Administrators and Managers can access these logs.
The main usage is to help them with the issues they encounter when clocking in and out. The words they will often use are "It bugs" and "It does not work". Before coming to this conclusion, it is essential to check the clock logs.
Where to find the Clock log
The clock logs are found under the Attendance tab in the main menu and then under the Clock Logs tab.
How to use and interpret
The logs keep full historic of clock logs. If an employee talks about his difficulties, it is possible to filter that employee. It is also possible to filter to specific dates, status or entry types.
To find the problematic time entries, you simply have to hunt for the red X's on the right column: Status. Simply click on the entry to see the detail of the issue.
Obtain a Report
In the Reports menu, under the Attendance category, you can export an excel spreadsheet version of the clock log, including answers.
