How do I reset a User's password?

Resetting an employee's password with a username log in

Written by Cipher

If your employee also has access to Atlas as a User, then they can reset their passwords themselves following this guide. However, in certain situations such as the User only having a username and no email address, they will require your assistance.

IMPORTANT: For resetting the password for an Employee with a linked User profile, please refer to this article instead.

  1. Click on Company > Users from the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Click the Actions next to the required user, and select View or edit user details.

  3. Click Reset Password.

If the User has an email address, then this will push out a password reset email to their email address. If they have a username only, then you will instead create a temporary password that you will have to note down and provide it the employee. They will then have to set a new password upon a successful login.

IMPORTANT: Passwords must be between eight and 20 characters in length and must have at least one uppercase letter (A-Z), one lowercase letter (a-z), one number (0-9), and one special character (for example, @#%*!).
