What syncs between the schedule and timesheets?

Understanding the differences between the schedule and timesheets

Key synchronization principle

The Schedule tab shows all scheduled time (planned time), while the Attendance tab reflects the actual time spent working.

For this reason, modifying a scheduled shift (even in the past) won't affect time entries for an employee, and vice versa: adjusting time entries will not affect the schedule.

Publishing the schedule

Timesheets only show the published version of the schedule under the Schedule column. If you don't see a schedule in the timesheet as shown below, check to ensure that your employee's schedule has been published.

Note: Employees only see published shifts.

Modifying the schedule after publication

If you modify and republish a past schedule, the Schedule column will be updated but the time entries themselves will remain the same. If you need to correct the hours an employee worked, you must manually modify their time entries.

Scheduling time off

When you schedule paid time off, you can choose the amount of hours to pay out.

The hours won't be immediately available in the timesheets. The time entry for paid time off will only be created at the end of the scheduled time off.

Note: Time off follows the rule above for schedule modifications. If you want to change past values, you must change the time entry in the timesheets and not the schedule.

Auto-clock

It is possible to create shifts that are automatically transferred to the timesheets without having to clock in or out or manually create the time entry.

This option works exactly the same way as explained for the time off above. The time entries will be created just after the end of the scheduled shift.
