In Schedule, click the Create button at the top-left of the calendar.
Select Shift from the menu.
from the sidebar, select the date the shift will start from.
select which employees to assign this shift to. You can filter by positions, sort your employee list or search by employee name.
Shift information
When creating any shift, you will enter the general information directly in this window. Here are a few tips:
You can type on the keyboard the Start and End times.
To create a Time off entry instead, select the box on the left.
Add a custom Break if required.
View the impact on availability of the employee at the bottom of the sidebar.
To create a recurring shift, go in the Recurrence tab. More on that here.
You can use Save as template to save the information on this shift to use again.
Breaks
You can add multiple breaks to a shift and you have different options::
The break duration (in minutes).
A Start at time (optional).
If it is Paid (Breaks are unpaid by default).
Draft Mode and Publishing the Schedule
When you create a shift it will be Unpublished first (surrounded by dotted lines) and the employee cannot see it. When you are ready to send it to and employee, click on the Publish button.
When a shift is published, the employee will receive a notification.
Published shifts appear with solid lines around them
If you make changes, you will need to publish the shift again to notify the employee.
IMPORTANT: To minimize the number of notifications sent. We recommend that you publish only once your schedule is complete.
