How do I create a shift template?

Saving a shift template with defined criteria

Written by Charles Vallières

There are two ways to create a shift template. Note that all information in the shift (breaks, resources, tasks, notes, and so on) becomes part of the template.

Create a shift template

From an existing shift

  1. Select an existing shift to open it.

  2. Check the Save as template box, then click the Modify button.

Important: Name the template before you save to make it easier to find later.

From the shift template menu

  1. From the Schedule page, click the Create button in the top-left of the calendar.

  2. Select Shift template from the menu. You will be taken to the Shift templates page, and a sidebar will open.

Settings

When creating a shift template, you can set the following criteria:

  • Template name, to easily identify it later.

  • Beginning and end times for the shift.

  • The position the shift applies to.

  • Additional notes and instructions.

  • Additional breaks, tasks, and resources as required.

Click the Save button to finalize the shift.

Once created, you can use templates to create a shift with one click in the schedule.
