A) Key Principle of synchronisation between the two modules
The Rota tab is all scheduled time (estimations of the futur) and the Time and Attendance tab is the actual time spend working.
Doing a modification in the schedule will not affect the time entries of an employee and the flipped side is also true.
B) Publishing the schedule
Time sheets will only show the published version of the rota under the Rota column.
Note: It is also true that employees will only see published shifts as well
C) Added information and past-modifications
When you modify the past schedule, the Rota column will be updated but not the time entries themselves. To apply worked time changes, you must modify the time entries.
Here's how to manually adjust an employee's time entry.
D) Scheduling time offs
When you schedule a paid time off in the rota, you can choose the amount of hours to pay out.
The hours will not be immediately available in the time sheets. The time entry of type paid time off will only be created at the end of the scheduled time off.
It is to note that time off's also follow the rule in C). If you want to change past values, you must change the time entry in the time sheets and not the rota.
E) Auto-clock and the non-obligation to clock in
It is possible to create shifts that are automatically transferred to the time sheets without having to clock in/out or creating manually the time entry.
This option works exactly the same way as explained for the time off's in point C). The time entries will be created just after the end of the scheduled shift.
Here's how to create an auto-clocking shift
Here's how to automatically create all future time entries automatically based on the rota of an employee (see point A-2)
