The premiums module allows you to create shift premiums that you can add to and calculate on your employees' shifts and time entries. Here are five things to know about premiums.
Premiums must be created by an administrator
Only administrators can create and edit the settings of a premium. Once this is done, managers can add or remove premiums for shifts and time entries.

Atlas supports several kinds of shift premium
Time-based: 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and so on.
Day-based: Saturday or Sunday premiums (weekends).
Position-based: Assistant manager, team lead premiums, and so on.
Location-based: For example, the Ottawa location could provide a premium to its employees because it is farther away than the Montreal location.
Employee-based: Sandra can have a premium automatically added to all their shifts, in accordance with their individual employment contract.
Start or end time: If a shift starts or ends before or after a given time, the premium is triggered.
These premiums can be automated with preset rules in the settings. See below for more information.
Premiums can be added manually or automatically
During the creation process, the administrator determines whether a premium is spontaneous or automatic, based on predetermined rules.

Premiums calculation types vary
Premiums in Atlas Scheduling are always calculated in hours (unitary) and not in currency. Here are the three different methods of calculation available.
Apply the premium only to work hours overlapping the trigger.
Apply the premiums to the entire shift when some of it overlaps a premium trigger.
Apply a specific amount of premium, regardless of the work shift's duration.
Premiums can stack up
Work shifts are not limited to one premium only. All premiums triggered will apply to the shift, as well as spontaneous ones added by a manager.
